Frequently asked questions.
How do I get my baby to sleep through the night?
There are many things that can affect a baby's sleep. Things such as sleep routine, developmental leap, teething, hunger, safety. In order to solve this issue, we'd need to get to the core of the issue
Should I be worried if my toddler isn't talking yet?
We need to remember that every child develops at their own pace, however there are things you can do to help your child get to that talking stage a bit faster.
My child is being bullied. How should I handle the situation?
Communication is one of the best tools you can give your child. This means communication with you, with his peers and with trusted adults. If we keep those lines of communication open, our children are more likely to come to us for help, but also be confident enough to stand up to bullies in a civilised way.
I have a really busy schedule. How can I spend more time with my kids?
This is a very common problem in today's society and the guilt is real! There are many things we can suggest, but here are a few simple changes: prioritise quality over quantity; ask yourself "Why am I finding it difficult to spend time with them?" (be honest); replace social media time with child time; join them where they are, even if it means playing video games you don't particularly like.
Why do toddlers have tantrums?
Simple answer: They are testing boundaries.
Longer answer: How do you handle them? Do you give in, to keep the peace and if so, why? What triggers them and how long do they typically last for? Can you remember a time where they calmed down by themselves?
What are the risks of technology and social media?
We now have enough time and research to back up the idea that the overuse of screen time and social media affects the development of children's brain, it creates addiction and, in the case of teenagers it can often create low self-esteem and anxiety.
How can I be a good parent?
Parenting is the hardest job there is, there are no instructions, no training, no salary, yet you're expected to always give it 100%. The main things that we like to talk about are connection, honesty, respect, confidence and self-compassion.
